Mechanical Development Engineer | Wind Turbine Robotics

Vught

Fulltime (32-40 hours per week)

About us:

IntoMachines has a young team with the purpose of changing the status quo by introducing smart software and hardware for the automated pre-tensioning of bolted connections in wind turbines worldwide. This contributes to faster and more cost-effective installation of wind turbines, thereby lowering the cost of wind energy and helping accelerate the energy transition!

A day at the office:

Every day, just before lunch, a team brainstorming session is held where questions, challenges, and possible solutions are discussed. In the afternoon, hardware/software tests are conducted on a prototype setup in our workshop. This way, products develop quickly, and you truly make an impact on the product and ultimately on the world. The cherry on top is that you get to accompany one of your colleagues on a wind turbine visit to test the developed products in practice. Optimization points are brought back to the office, then resolved and implemented.

About the Role: As a Mechanical Development Engineer, you will have two main areas of focus.

  1. Production support:
You ensure that the design meets the customer’s requirements based on their feedback and is also quick and easy for us to produce. Additionally, you oversee and optimize the production process and arrange supplementary tasks.
  2. Robot Development:
During the development of the autonomous bolting robot, you assist the engineering team with testing the robot and analysing how it can be improved. You work on design suggestions to enhance the robot and simplify production. You then oversee and optimize the robot’s production, making you involved in the process from concept to final product.
