IntoMachines has a young team with the purpose of changing the status quo by building smart software and hardware for automated tightening of bolted connections in wind turbines worldwide. This contributes to faster and more cost-effective installation of wind turbines, thereby lowering the cost of wind energy and helping accelerate the energy transition!

How you will like joining the IntoMachines team: A day at the office!

The morning starts with focus time to code and develop the software stack. Daily before lunch, a team brainstorming session is held where questions, challenges, and possible solutions are discussed. In the afternoon, hardware/software tests are conducted on a prototype wind turbine setup in our workshop. This way, products develop quickly, and you truly make an impact on the product’s development and ultimately on the world.

About the Role:

As a Robotics Software Developer you will focus on writing Python/C code and develop the overall software stack of our semi-automatic bolting tools and autonomous robots which tighten bolts in wind turbines. This consists of designing and coding state machines, back-end and front-end development for smooth operator usage of the system, and developing online databases for storage of bolting parameters. Logical thinking and robust software solutions are essential in this cycle to make scalable code.

The following characteristics are required for the role:

• Python robotics experience (2+ years industry experience) — comfortable with async/await, not just scripts
• Backend development experience — REST APIs, databases (PostgreSQL or similar), async frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
• Experience with state machines, event-driven architecture, or robotics/automation systems
• Experience with a desktop GUI framework (CustomTkinter, PyQt, Tkinter, or similar)
• Familiarity with Linux (Raspberry Pi)
• Experience with git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Your drive is strong to meet solid fundamentals as making readable code, tests after coding, and be sure the thing works in the field!
• You like to get your hands on hardware, test your code in the workshop and understand where things might go wrong in the software stack.
• Docker: Our software is deployed as services using docker, so understanding how to use docker is a plus.
• C: Part of the software stack is written in C. Knowledge of how to develop and implement software in C is a plus.
